Timothy “Buc Wild” Joseph, the former HOT 97 personality and co-host of the “Star & Buc Wild” show, has died at 47. His former radio partner, Star, announced the death during a YouTube livestream on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

According to Star, Joseph died Sunday, September 6. The announcement was subsequently reported by HOT 97 and Complex, which identified Joseph as a longtime collaborator and former co-host on the New York station’s “Star & Buc Wild” program.

The cause of death has not been confirmed. Star mentioned fentanyl as a possibility during the livestream but explicitly said he did not have confirmation. That speculation should not be treated as an established cause of death.

Joseph was closely associated with the “Star & Buc Wild” show, whose confrontational, personality-driven style made it a notable presence in New York hip-hop radio. The pair later worked together on other radio projects after their HOT 97 run.

During his tribute, Star described Joseph as someone he loved like a son and reflected on their decades-long relationship. He also discussed Joseph’s dyslexia and recalled supporting him during their time working together at HOT 97. No funeral or memorial arrangements have been publicly announced.
